Following previous careers in international public health and TV documentary production, Paul and Beccie first came to Fez together in 2004. In 2007 we bought the original Dar which then housed 13 families. In 2008, with our son aged 3 months, we moved to Fez to begin the rebuild. Four years on and with the addition of a neighbouring ruin, now the walled garden and balconies, we hope that we are able to offer you a wonderful home from home in Fez Medina.

Of course renovating a 200 years old house in the worlds oldest living medina had it’s fair share of trials and tribulations and thus in fitting recognition to the joy, love and strength that he provided during the build, we have decided to name the house after our gorgeous boy, Finley.

Responsible Tourism

At Dar Finn our aim, based within the ethos of Responsible Tourism, is to ensure that tourism acts as a means for social, cultural and economic exchange and development. As such wherever possible, purchasing and resourcing of materials or staff is undertaken locally, thus ensuring that money feeds back in to our local community.

During the renovation of the Dar every effort was made to use traditional methods, skills, labour and materials. Where possible we have recycled wood to repair ceiling, make doors and furniture.

Food is locally sourced allowing for seasonally availability and an emphasis is made upon nurturing a growing blend of traditional and contemporary culinary styles. We encourage our guests to avoid using plastic by shopping with our in house recycled bags, these are made locally and can be purchased if you wish therefore directly benefiting the local women who make them.

Morocco is a water scarce country and thus we urge our guests not to waste this precious resource. Recycled rubber buckets are available in all rooms to catch hot water run off, that can be used to water the plants in and around your rooms.

We aim to treat our employees fairly and support their personal development. We also support a local NGO Association Pour La Protection Des Droites Des Femmes, Fez.

Our role as part of a Responsible Tourism infrastructure is evolving and we look forward to your partnership in this.

Welcome to Dar Finn.
