Blue Raiders play San Diego State in the Hawaii Bowl

Middle Tennessee State Football will play San Diego State in the Hawaii Bowl, athletic director Chris Massaro confirmed to the Daily News Journal.

The Hawaii Bowl will be played on December 24 (7 p.m. CT, ESPN) at the Clarence TC Ching Athletics Complex at the University of Hawai’i on the Mānoa campus in Honolulu.

This is the second time MTSU has played in the Hawaii Bowl. The Blue Raiders lost 52-35 to Hawaii in 2016 at Aloha Stadium.

“The Hawaii Bowl offers a lot of things,” Massaro said Monday. “It gives our players the opportunity to visit a state most wouldn’t get a chance to. Anyone who’s visited Hawaii would attest that it’s paradise. The Hawaii Bowl is one of the most iconic bowls in the lineup. It’s a very prestigious shell.
