The holiday season brings with it so many opportunities to have fun, spend time with family and friends, and create memories that will last a lifetime. It is also a time of beloved traditions. For many, a trip to this Pennsylvania Christmas village has become an annual tradition. If you haven’t already, you’ll quickly see why this is one of the best ways to celebrate the holiday season in Pennsylvania.
A blanket of snow transforms Philadelphia’s Love Park into a winter wonderland that draws locals and visitors from afar for its annual German Christmas Village each holiday season.
The free holiday village typically runs from mid-November to Christmas Eve, giving you plenty of time to plan around an hour for a visit.
The German Christmas Village is an authentic German market with wooden stalls and usually features dozens of vendors. You might even be able to do your Christmas shopping.
However, the market is about so much more than just shopping. So plan enough time for your visit. A full menu of events, from wine tasting to storytelling, is also planned.
Also, keep an eye on the calendar so the kids can pose for photos and tell Santa their Christmas wishes. Phil the Reindeer, the village mascot, will also be there on select days.
A Christmas party wouldn’t be complete without a ride on the Ferris wheel or the…
Carousel. The children can also board the children’s train.
All this fun is sure to work up a big appetite, and the Christmas Village is bursting with delicious dishes. Grab a bite to eat from German spaetzle, Schnitzel Haus and Belgian fries, among others.
