Tompkins Community Bank
Lenin Agudo, director of Widener University’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC), has been appointed to the board of directors of Tompkins Community Bank in Pennsylvania. Agudo brings more than 15 years of economic development experience to the board and is committed to revitalizing communities through public policy and economic growth.
As director of Widener’s SBDC, Agudo oversees three major economic development programs in eastern Pennsylvania: the Procurement Technical Assistance Program (PTAC), the Small Business Environmental Management Assistance Program (EMAP), and the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) program.
Prior to Widener University, Agudo served the City of Reading as Director of Community and Economic Development. He began his career as a senior advisor to various national and international organizations including the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the United Nations Association of the Dominican Republic.
Agudo holds an MBA from Kutztown University, a postgraduate certificate in Economic Growth and Development from the University of Pennsylvania, and a certificate in Optimizing Business Performance from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Executive Education. He is currently the Board Chair of the Wyomissing Foundation and Board Director of the Community First Fund (CDFI).
Berks County Community Foundation
Monica Reyes has been promoted to vice president, programs and initiatives for the Berks County Community Foundation. Reyes previously served as program officer for Health and Human Services for the Community Foundation.
As vice president, Reyes leads the Community Foundation’s program executive team and oversees the distribution of grants from more than 370 charitable funds.
Before joining the Community Foundation, Reyes worked for Senator Judy Schwank’s office, specializing in health and social issues and coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies. In this capacity, she participated in community committees and social change initiatives in Pennsylvania’s 11th Senate District. She also held a supervisory position at a national research company.
Reyes earned a bachelor’s degree in political science with a minor in French from Kutztown University and a master’s degree in public administration from West Chester University.
RKL LLP has appointed Michael Koch to lead the firm’s valuation practice, which identifies and analyzes a company’s key value and cost drivers.
As a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA), Koch has performed engagements for gifts, estate planning, the purchase or sale of a business, and other analysis and advice. His team-oriented approach enables him to serve customers reliably and consistently exceed expectations. With experience in valuation, financial modeling and forecasting, and litigation support, he serves clients across a wide range of industries.
Koch graduated magna cum laude from Kutztown University with a BSBA in Finance with a minor in Economics. He is a member of the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.
Association of Manufacturers
Star Gibbs, manager of talent programs at The Hershey Co., was appointed to the Manufacturers’ Association board, while Michelle Finch, senior director of human resources development at Wolfgang Confectioners in York, was elected to a second three-year term.
An MSc from Troy University, a postgraduate from the University of London and a BA from the University of Delaware, Star Gibbs joined The Hershey Co. in 2013 as Production Manager. He has held various positions in Hershey’s supply chain, including Senior Sourcing Specialist and then Senior Business Development Specialist. In late 2020, Gibbs was promoted to talent programs manager and continues in that role. He has worked closely with the association in the past, including a recent pre-apprenticeship program at the Milton Hershey School in partnership with The Hershey Co.
Michelle Finch, who is now serving her second term on the board, is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with BS degrees with concentrations in chemical engineering and food science. Finch brings decades of food manufacturing experience including previous positions as operations manager at Turkey Hill Dairy in 2015, value stream manager for industrial products at Mars Chocolate North America and 15 years at Frito-Lay, Inc. in York in several senior positions. She is also a founding member and co-chair of the Women in Manufacturing Central PA Chapter.
